Hi, When I have my Gopro hero 5 black on I cant get to the menu on the camera. when I tap the screen it says "Swipe down to lock" and swiping down only lock it. Locked it says tap to unlock. so there is no way to get to the meny since swipe down locks it and then tap unlocks it.

GoPro does not admit to a defect they are now requesting those who have the black screen and or any issue to right away upload firmware. and make sure a recommended card is used. Gopro can take back your camera if you provide proof of purchase and a receipt dated befre the 1 year warranty, if you can FIND a receipt, you can get a new camera.

March 24, 2022 at 1:30 AM. Camera not working, just black screen. I recently purchased the hero10 and have been able to use it until this morning when I powered it on. The front and rear screen are black and I am unable to take pictures (just ends up being a black screen), but I can still use the touch screen buttons/functions and view old media. The issue happens when you export the video, in any quality, it happens randomly and nearby transitions. The preview is usually ok before exporting; but after exporting the video the preview has black frames in the transitions, too. . Reset your GoPro Hero 5. When your Hero 5 camera does not turn on anymore, first try the reset. After removing the SD card and unplugging your camera from any power source, press the Mode button for 10 seconds. Then release your finger. Wait a few seconds, then press the Mode button or the shutter again. The camera should turn back on.
Hey, I went to bestbuy this morning, and got a new battery. My camera powered right up. It will still not charge when plugged in though, so I had to buy the $50 standalone charger kit, at least it came with another battery though. Try a different battery if you can get one, there's a chance it could work. Good luck.

Eu já fiz, já falei com o suporte, porém não foi solucionado meu caso e creio que o de ninguém será, a Gopro está tratando os clientes como lixo, não substituem o produto,
Steps: 1 - Record a video in 4K for at least 1-2 minutes. 2 - Stop Recording. 3 - quickly go to the review screen and start watching the video you just recorded. 4 - quickly start recording a new video (straight from the review screen - do not go back to the live view screen) 5 - It should freeze. atTY.
